The Dropped Object Prevention Scheme (DROPS) is an industry body focused on preventing dropped objects. DROPS is essentially a Global Work Group, represented by 200 operators, contractors, service companies and industry bodies, all sharing commitment and enthusiasm for the common goal of dropped object prevention. This group has had a big impact since its formation, and has disseminated best practices, training, safety alerts and incident reports.
Salunda unveiled the Latch Hawk, our fingerboard latch monitoring network, to a DROPS forum in Aberdeen on September 17th 2015. Since then we have had many enquiries from drilling contractors and operators regarding applying our solution to the prevention of dropped pipe during drilling.
We are pleased to announce that the Company has now joined DROPS and looks forward to making its contribution to increasing safety during drilling, and reducing incidents in connection with pipe racking. Our team looks forward to playing an active part in this group and will be attending DROPS events in the UK and overseas..
