Salunda were present at the IADC World Drilling Conference & Exhibition in Milan last week to showcase their latest technology; Crew Hawk™.
Crew Hawk™ is a red zone monitoring system that utilises Salunda’s proprietary wireless Hawk™ network to track the location of personnel and moving equipment around the drill floor.
The Crew Hawk™ system allows for the quick configuration of static red-zones depending on the scope of work being completed. Equipment locators mounted to moving equipment provide a dynamic red-zone around machinery.
Personnel locators mounted to Crew PPE track their physical location around the drill floor and trigger alerts where red-zone’s have been breached. Personnel worn alarms provide crew with a visual and audible alarm to alert them to imminent danger.
Salunda had a large exhibition stand where they were running live demonstrations of their latest red zone monitoring system for the duration of the exhibition.
Salunda’s innovative red zone monitoring solution was also included in an exciting presentation by Transocean. Travis McGuire, Human-Machine Engineering manager at Transocean delivered the presentation “Differentiating Red Zone Safety with Halo Gaurd”. Transocean partnered with Salunda and Houston Mechatronics to develop Drill Floor Safety System, HaloGuard.
