Salunda ltd. is pleased to announce the appointment of Rod Taylor as non-executive Chairman. A highly successful entrepreneur and engineer, Rod founded and grew the Seaward Group into a global exporter of electrical safety equipment. In June 2015, Rod sold Seaward Group to Metrawatt International GmbH.
Seaward is recognised as a market leader in Biomedical Engineering, Renewable Energy and Health and Safety. A winner of a Queens Award for export in 2013, Seaward is accredited with over 20 different awards for business excellence in export, innovation and people development. Rod was awarded an MBE for services to industry in 2009.
Rod spent his early career in the offshore oil and marine industry with roles in engineering and marketing in US multinationals based in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Rod is a Chartered Engineer (FIET), and a BSc in Electronic Engineering, and holds a post graduate qualification in Marketing.
Chief Executive Alan Finlay said, “the appointment of an industrialist of Rod’s calibre comes as the company enters a phase of intensive product commercialisation and sales. His track-record of building a highly profitable, export-led instrumentation business through acquisitions and establishing global sales channels is impressive and will stand us in good stead.”
Rod succeeds Chris Harris, who steps down from the board after ten years’ service. Alan commented, “the Board, staff and shareholders of Salunda are very grateful to Chris for his dedication and counsel over these past years, and wish him continued success at Yasa Motors”.
